How Do I Access Templafy?

Templafy will automatically be added to your desktop or web-based PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and Excel applications in the “Home” tab on 6/14/2022.

But before you can get started, you’ll need to download the Templafy Desktop App. You can view the download instructions here: Templafy Desktop Installation Guide

Once this step is complete, you are good to go. Open or restart the application and give it a try.

Do Templafy and Brand Central Work Together?

Yes. Templafy works together with Brand Central.

As the asset library within Brand central grows and evolves, Templafy will automatically sync with the latest.

Pro Tip: If it’s in Brand Central or Templafy, it’s approved for external use.

What is Templafy?

Templafy is a Microsoft Office plugin tool that makes creating presentations quicker and easier. The tool automatically updates with the latest versions of Coyote-branded templates and assets, while helping you add your content with automated formatting, editing and pre-loaded images.    

Why did Coyote implement Templafy? 

Templafy is being implemented to make it easier for employees to create perfectly formatted, on-brand presentations, spreadsheets and documents.

In tandem with Bynder, Templafy will automatically apply the latest branded materials, so you always have the most recent versions. In streamlining this process, we aim to help save time and increase the consistency of public-facing branded materials. 

Do all employees have access to Templafy?  

Not at the initial launch. Given limitations with user licenses, Templafy will be reserved for “power users” – those that regularly create or heavily contribute to documents, PowerPoints and other presentations for key external and internal audiences.

We plan to expand Templafy across the organization as soon as possible.  

Where can I access Templafy?  

Templafy is a Microsoft Office plugin, which means you use the tool directly in your desktop and online applications. The IT Team will add the tool to all users’ computers – no action is needed from employees.

You will see a new “Templafy” button in your navigation bar. Once you click on it and log in using your SSO credentials, you are good to start using the tool.  

Do I need to create a Templafy account?  

No. Those with access to Templafy at launch will be able to access the tool using their SSO credentials directly in the desktop or online versions of Office applications.  

Do I access Templafy using my Coyote SSO login?  

Yes. Your Coyote SSO credentials will need to be used to access Templafy.   

Do I have to be on the Coyote VPN in order to access Templafy?  

No. If you are on the VPN, you will not need to use your SSO credentials.  

If you are not on the VPN, you will need to use your SSO credentials. 

Does Templafy work across all Microsoft Office platforms?   

Yes. Templafy will work across Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel – both on desktop and mobile versions.  

If I am unable to access Templafy, how can I troubleshoot my issue?

How to Use Templafy FAQs

How do I start a new presentation, spreadsheet or document in Templafy?  

To create a new branded material, simply open the application and click on the Templafy icon. From there, the platform will automatically populate our templates and let you build you content from there.  

In the case of PowerPoint, open your PowerPoint application and click "Create a blank Coyote presentation." This will automatically open the new template and you can get started. 

Are there resources to help me learn how to use all of Templafy’s functionality?  

Yes. There is an entire library of “how-to” resources in the online Templafy Support Center, which is available directly in the platform. The Marketing Team also created a video demo of the platform to show you the basics, which you can view above.

How do I request a new presentation, spreadsheet or document template be added to Templafy?  

Simple! Use the Templafy Request Form. The Marketing team will be in touch to help with your request. 

How do I change images, charts and other materials in Templafy?  

Templafy was designed to make this easy. Once you’ve created a new presentation, document or spreadsheet, use the Templafy tool (accessible in the navigation bar) to incorporate any visuals that you like. Once added, charts can easily be updated by clicking on the data column, selecting a corner and dragging it to your desired point.

Images can be swapped by clicking on them and selecting a new image from the Templafy image library. The image will automatically crop to fit the space. Can I upload slides or content from the old Coyote template into Templafy?

Yes, you will be able to do this. Marketing is in the process of creating a template that will allow you to easily swap content or slides from the old PowerPoint template into the new style. We will send an update once this is available. 

How do I adjust the Termina Bold font size and capitalization? 

While the Termina Bold font should work for most headlines that are kept succinct, the beauty of Templafy is that you can easily make adjustments. If you need to reduce the size, simply select the headline copy and reduce the font size. 

The templates will automatically have each word in the headline in all caps. However, you can also adjust to sentence case using the "Change Case" functionality. 

We encourage you to use your best judgment on the font size when using all the new brand fonts. If you're having trouble making everything fit, consider abbreviating your headline. The purpose of the headline should be to tee up the content on the page, which should do the majority of the explanation. 

If any changes are made to the headline font sizing on one slide, we encourage you to apply them across all slides for consistency. 

If I want to use one of the multi-unit templates but have an odd number of items to include, what should I do? 

The new brand template comes pre-loaded with a wide range of slide designs, including multi-unit formats. If you need to build a slide with more or fewer units than are available in the template, not to worry.

Simply pick whichever slide template has the closest number of units to your needs. While Templafy cannot automatically format changes to unit quantities, you can easily add or delete them and use the built-in spacing and margin tools in PowerPoint to make sure all are aligned and spaced.  

If I can’t find an asset I’m looking for or am having trouble using Templafy, what should I do?

General Coyote Brand FAQs

Are the assets in Templafy up to date?  

Yes. Templafy updates assets for all users in real-time. Any time the Marketing Team makes updates, they will replace the outdated versions so you can be confident you always have the latest and greatest.  

Why did Coyote make updates to its brand, templates and assets? 

It goes without saying that our brand is one of our most remarkable assets. But it’s been over 11 years since our last rebrand and the assets have begun to show their age. This, paired an implementation has become inconsistent, meant that it was time for some updates.  

The idea of this refresh is not to reinvent the brand that has built so much equity in the marketplace; rather, we want to ensure that we evolve the brand in a more modern and globally scalable direction that aligns with where the business is today – and where we plan to go in the future. 

Can I still use the old Coyote logo and templates?  

We understand that it can take some time to get used to Templafy and the new templates. We’re confident the tool will make creating PowerPoints, documents and spreadsheets much faster and easier. Therefore, we request that everyone with access begin using Templafy and the new templates starting today.
